Alicante is the most important Spanish city along the beautiful Costa Brava. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world - it's population swelling dramaticly in the summer months.
For most people, the main attractions of Alicante are it's beaches. Those long stretches of soft golden sand, together with the calm blue seas, make it ideal for sun-worshippers and swimmers alike. The climate is also very appealing - averaging around 32oC in the summer, and a very mild 16oC in the winter. In fact, Alicante's internation reputation for its summer weather is 'Hot, sunny, beautiful, but never overwhelming'.
As for yachting? Alicante has a HUGE marina, 'Puerto de Alicante', where yachts sit happily side by side. The waters around this area are truly perfect for yachting, notably in the summer months. Calm, warm, clear, blue and inviting. For those looking to get into the world of sailing, there are plenty of yachts for sale in Alicante.
What's more, Alicante offers an international airport - with regular flights to London, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Edinburgh and Liverpool. A bus service runs from the Airport to the city centre, close to the coast and the marina.
